Measuring app. 2 1/4 long (including bail) x 13/16 inch wide, featuring a warrior on horseback shooting arrows. Fashioned in 18k yellow gold, 10k gold, and shakudo. Suspended from an 18 inch, 14k chain. Circa 1880. Kashira is a decorative element attached to the top of a Japanese samurai sword. Shakudo is a Japanese metalwork technique where different colors of metal (yellow gold, silver, and/or copper) are inlaid into a darkened copper base.
