22.27ct Ceylon Sapphire and 1.01ct Sapphire, 0.35ct Ruby and 0.30ct Diamond and Palladium Brooch - Antique Circa 1935

Description This stunning, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in palladium with platinum settings. The asymmetrical brooch design is accented with seven stunning four-claw set cushion cut Ceylon sapphires, totalling 22.27cts. The undulating wirework stems supporting the Ceylon sprays are conjoined with six four-claw set round faceted cut rubies, totalling 0.35ct. This splayed arrangement terminates to the lower portion with an impressive pierced decorated pear shaped cluster setting. The cluster design is embellished with a collet set 1.01ct pear faceted cut sapphire to the centre, encompassed with twenty-two pavé set Old European round cut diamonds. The apex of this pear-shaped design is further embellished with a collet set Old European cut diamond. The lower portion of the brooch is embellished with a fluted, lobed palladium motif; it can be interpreted that these represent the tail feathers within a stylised, fanned peacock design.
