Victorian 8.58ct Diamond and 12ct Yellow Gold Sheath Swirl Brooch

Description This stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian diamond brooch has been crafted in 12ct yellow gold with silver settings. The pierced decorated, organic swirl setting displays a central feature 1.42ct claw set Old European cut diamond . The outer frame of the brooch is ornamented with three trefoil clusters of individually claw set Old European cut diamonds, segmented with leaf designs ornamented with pavé set diamonds, in a combination of Old European and eight cuts, completing the asymmetrical design. This sheath swirl brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp. This antique diamond brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12 carat gold and silver; as to be expected with the period of the piece.
