2.28ct Diamond and 0.52ct Ruby, 18 ct Yellow Gold Dress Ring - Vintage French Circa 1940

Description This stunning, fine and impressive vintage French ruby and diamond ring has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold with a platinum setting. The substantial Art Deco design is ornamented with an impressive feature four-claw set 1.50 ct Old European cut diamond, displayed in relief to the centre of the stepped platinum mount. The principal diamond is flanked on either side with impressive four-claw set Old European cut diamonds, totalling 0.78 carats. The ring is further ornamented with eight baguette cut rubies, paralleling the upper and lower borders of the elevated, stepped central design. The broad ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain hallmarked ring shank. This vintage ring is hallmarked to the surface of the shank with the maker's mark, in addition to the French 18ct gold fineness guarantee mark (eagle's head) and platinum guarantee mark (dog's head).
